The paper and packaging industry are one of the largest users of adhesives. From modern dispersion adhesives for film lamination to reactive hot melts for bonding folding boxes, adhesives play an integral role in the construction and application of most packaging formats, both rigid and flexible. For instance, hot melt adhesives are widespread in packaging and converting applications for an array of different materials,

Adhesives based on reactive polyurethanes are indispensable in the production of flexible packaging, being used to laminate two or more layers together. Water-based adhesives, containing starch, dextrin and / or casein, have labelling applications and applied to tissue and paper bonding with the addition of cellulose or cellulose derivatives.

With an extremely high proportion of all industrial products are sold in packaging – either as result of stability requirements in transport and storage or even aesthetic reasons - the market for these adhesives technologies is expected to rise at 4.5% CAGR to $22.8 billion, or 7.1 million tonnes, by 2023.

Adhesives & Bonding Expo will provide executives, engineers and purchasing and procurement professionals with the latest bonding solutions for packaging applications.
