Dr David Hatrick specialises in spectroscopic techniques for materials characterization. Previous career experience includes materials R&D in the nuclear sector, and in R&D consulting in chemicals, advanced materials and consumer products industries. Currently, he is Vice President of Innovation at Huntsman Advanced Materials, leading the technology and innovation activities across the business from early stage technology platform development, through product development and technical service. This includes identifying and executing on major new product / application projects, step out technology opportunities and business model innovations which can sustain future growth of the division.

Scott Pergande has over 30 years of experience in adhesives, sealants, coatings, surface treatments, lubricants and specialty chemicals. He has held management and strategic roles in Henkel, Loctite and Mobil Oil. Currently, he serves as the Global Director of Product Management and Marketing for the Engineering Adhesives group of H.B. Fuller, where he oversees the management of various product and technology portfolios for the Automotive, New Energy, Aerospace markets and more. His organization is responsible for internal and external aspects of product planning, marketing, analytics and delivery processes that produce market/customer driven value added products and solutions.

Joe Sentendrey has over 25 years of experience within the coating & laminating field, as well as material science areas such as adhesives, sealants, coatings and a variety of substrate technologies. He has worked as Director and Vice President of technology for organizations such as Rexam and Spinnaker Coating, as well as Business Development Manager for organizations, such as Neptco and Digistone. He is presently General Manager of Toyo Ink America, LLC PSA Division, where he has worked for 9 years in his present capacity, as well as the North American Sales Manager.
Dr Yanju Wang, Adhesive/Epoxy COE leader, GE Healthcare
Yanju Wang has over 20 years of experience in material sciences, including various R&D across medical devices, life sciences, biotechnology, waste water treatment and energy. She has worked globally including Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research, University of California, Los Angeles, and Lead Scientist at GE Global Research Center in Shanghai and New York. Currently, she serves as an Adhesive/Epoxy COE leader for GE Healthcare to drive the vision and standards for adhesives and application practices, providing leadership, guidelines, and planning for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing.
Giorgio Zaffaroni, Technical Director, Permabond Company
Giorgio Zaffaroni has a background in Chemistry, and he is working in Adhesive Technology from more than 20 years with responsibilities in R&D, Technical Assistance, Innovation Management. His previous significant work experiences were in Fiber Reinforced Polymeric Composites and he has been employed in various companies in many business areas ranging from Aerospace to Buildings, from Electronics to Maintenance. Currently, he holds the position of Technical Director at Permabond Company, where he handles assignments in R&D, Technical and Innovation Development, as well as, being an author and co-author of Technical Papers and Patents.
Dr Tyler Shaw, Head of Advanced Manufacturing, PING Golf
Dr. Shaw is a progressive leader of Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation. Tyler specializes in Additive Manufacturing, Research and Development (R&D), Adhesives, Composites, Process Development, Reliability Engineering, Root Cause Analysis, and ISO Standards. He has a strong background in consumer products/sporting goods, energy, and aerospace applications, with companies such as PING, Vestas, and Orbital Sciences (now Northrup Grumman). Currently, he leads Advanced Manufacturing initiatives at PING golf, where he focuses on the implementation of cutting-edge technologies for golf equipment. He challenges applications in manufacturing by the joining of different materials and seeks out opportunities that reach beyond established practice to make revolutionary gains in how we think about problems – and solve them.
Dr Andrew Smail, CCDC-Ground Vehicle Systems Center, Materials Characterization and Failure Analysis, US Army’s Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC)
Andrew Smail holds a Bachelor of Science in Composite Materials Engineering from Winona State University. He has worked in various positions throughout his career and started off working in a prepreg and laminate manufacturing facility from which he relocated to Michigan to work for General Dynamics Land Systems where his primary focus was on design, research, development and integration of advanced materials systems for vehicle hull structures. Andrew has over 15 years of experience in adhesives and surface treatments for multi-material and dissimilar material joining in applications primarily focused on the environmental loading requirements associated with ground combat vehicles. Currently Andrew is overseeing multiple adhesive development efforts to push the physical capabilities and mechanical boundaries of adhesives for utilization within high loading rate environments.
Dr. Reuben Correia, New Product Development Manager, Adhesives & Inks, Birla Carbon
Dr. Reuben Correia is New Product Development Manager, Adhesives & Inks at Birla Carbon and is based at the state-of-the-art Birla Carbon Technology Center in Marietta, Georgia. He leads product innovation in adhesives and inks using Stage-Gate process. Dr. Correia has about two decades of experience formulating Adhesives and Sealants. He has developed Best-In-Class global products that have enabled customers achieve primerless adhesion to a wide variety of metal, painted, plastic, and glass substrates, fast adhesion development even at low temperatures, and quick cure. He also has expertise in efficient manufacturing of sealants using continuous twin screw extruders and a variety of batch mixers. Prior to his current role, Dr. Correia has held positions of Technology Management, Senior Chemist, and Six Sigma Black Belt at GE Silicones and Momentive. He received his Ph.D in Synthetic Organic Methodology and Mechanistic Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003.
Dr Timothy Clemens, Lab Manager, Structural Adhesives, 3M
Tim Clemens is currently a Laboratory Manager for 3M Company with responsibility for Structural Adhesives Growth across multiple divisions supporting the Electronics, Auto, Aerospace, Industrial and Collision Repair markets. Throughout his 28 years at 3M, Tim has been involved in several Composite Material and Adhesive related businesses, serving a variety of roles which include product and process development, manufacturing, technical service and technical management. He holds a Composites Material Engineering Degree from Winona State University and a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Degree from the University of St. Thomas.
