Introducing Novagard 500-PV: Revolutionizing Solar Assembly with Advanced Silicone Technology

As interest in North American solar production surges behind strong demand and government incentives, manufacturers are seeking domestic sources of assembly materials. Silicones offer many characteristics that are attractive to those manufacturing products that must operate for long periods of time in harsh environmental conditions. Silicones from Novagard offer excellent UV resistance, extraordinary protection against shock & vibration, extreme temperature stability, excellent dielectric properties, and simple solvent-free handling and processing.  

Novagard is introducing a Photovoltaic PV assembly silicone sealant ideal for use in the solar industry. 500-PV is a two-component, 10:1 variable ratio alkoxy condensation cure silicone thixotropic paste. 500-PV has a moderate curing speed at room temperature, allowing sufficient time for large components and complex assemblies to come together during panel manufacturing, while providing significantly greater throughput than single-component condensation cure products. 500-PV offers very good adhesion to many different materials, including glass, aluminum, and composites.

This paste is designed for use in a variety of applications where long-term temperature cycle resistance, UV exposure, and other harsh exposure conditions exist. 500-PV can be used in PV solar panel and solar frame assembly, PV junction box assembly and attachment, interior and exterior bonding & sealing, encapsulation, and electrical connector sealing.
